I had an interesting conversation with someone at a recent art show opening about artists and the sale of paintings. I was very excited as many of my fellow artists were getting red dots next to their paintings. A red dot equals a sale. The person asked me why that was so important. Amazing! It was wonderful news to hear that I had been selected for a scholarship for the 11th annual Encaustic Conference in Provincetown, MA!This prestigious annual interdisciplinary event brings a community of artists together with gallerists, curators, critics and collectors engaged with wax, printmaking, mixed media, professional practices and more. I was thrilled to stumble upon the work of Nancy Yule while visiting family in Cambridge, Ontario last month. My mother and I took a tour of the newly revitalized downtown and came across Gallery M where she was exhibiting. Join Bethany for a fun workshop creating beautiful holiday cards using encaustic, stamps, and stickers.This workshop is perfect for beginners and everyone will go home with a set of holiday cards.There are two classes to choose from: Sunday, November 27th or Sunday, December 4thBoth will be held at the new Bead Trails shop in Summerland (13207 Victoria Rd, Summerland)Class time is 11:30am to 2:30pmCost: $45 - includes all supplies and materials.
