My North Carolina Encaustic Adventure: Part 2 310 Art

Located at Riverview Station North, ground floor in the Historic River Art District in Asheville, NC, the 310 Art Gallery is a delightful collection of artists in residence, art instruction, and a beautiful gallery. Fleta Monaghan, the director and founder of 310 Art, was our charming tour guide during our visit. It was so refreshing to see a gallery that represented so many encaustic artists of such high caliber. There were works by Patricia Baldwin Seggebruch, Bet Kindley, Fleta Monaghan, and Erin Keane.  I encourage you to visit their website to see all of the participant artists at the gallery...

My First Demo Video :)

Exploring Encaustic Stencil Demo with Bethany Handfield - using PanPastel, R&F Paints Pigment Sticks & Cathy Nichols' designed stencils. Eek! I finally did it! I made a demo video this weekend with assistance from the lovely Miss Megan. I had been putting off doing one for years because I was afraid of how I looked and sounded and really so many fear based loops in my head. My North Carolina Encaustic Adventure: Part 1 Cathy Nichols

Asheville, NC I was tickled pink to meet and have a studio visit with the lovely Cathy Nichols in the gorgeous mountain town of Asheville, NC. Cathy is an encaustic and mixed media artist who lives a colorful and creative life with her musician partner Jay and children. They were both so welcoming to me, my mom Maggie and family friend Monica when we came for our visit. Cathy creates beautiful whimsical paintings in delicious colours and regularly shows her work across the United States. Though we were playing with encaustic during our visit, she is an accomplished mixed media...

PanPastels!!!

We are so excited to be carrying PanPastel & Sofft Tools in the shop. I just love using this product with my encaustic paintings. A little goes a long way. It is excellent for building color, layering, using with stencils, shading and so much more. Plus the variety of applicators make it easy to apply. Gently fuse after application and you are done. We have a small collection of the colors and sets available now. If there is something missing that you would like to purchase, just let us know and we can add it to the buy list. Happy...

Studio Sale!

Studio Sale!

I am having a wee studio sale on new unused products from my own studio and new but discontinued products from the shop. Some items are no longer available, either in Canada or at all, and I have been trying to find time to post them. Here they are! Some items, like A4 colored paper (except black) and stamps I just decided to put on sale for the fun of it. All products are new. Some have been grouped together to make sets.  All sales are final, with no refunds or exchanges - kind of like an online garage sale. But with way...
